SQOD Authenticator Guide
Set up a Multi-Factor authentication app
This purpose of this guide is to assist you in setting up your Multi-Factor authentication application for use with the SQOD platform.
The three applications listed here are not the only options for Multi-Factor authentication but they have been tested and found to work with SQOD without issue. Should your organisation use an alternative authentication application please refer to your internal process for adding your SQOD login to this.
Microsoft Authenticator Application
The Microsoft Authenticator application is available from both Apple App Store and Google Play store, and the applications icon looks like this:-
Once you open the app for the first time you will be asked to accept the privacy policies then you will be presented with a screen asking you to secure your account. At this stage you will need to choose an email account to connect the application to. This can either be a personal account which you hold with Microsoft or a professional/work provided account.
Once the application starts you will be presented with a screen that looks like this:
When you select the plus icon in the top right corner of the screen you will be asked what kind of account you wish to add to the authenticator application. For this you can choose the ‘other’ option. You will be presented with the option to either enter the code from the screen or scan the QR code presented:-
Once you scan the code you will be presented with a passcode from the authenticator app:
Once this is entered you will be signed in to the SQOD platform.
Google Authenticator
The Google Authenticator application is available from both Apple App Store and Google Play store the applications icon looks like this:
Once you install the application and open it for the first time you will be guided through the setup process.
You can choose to connect this to your Google account or simply skip the connection setup to use as a Multi Factor authenticator with no backup of the code.
Next select the plus icon in the bottom right corner of the screen to add the account to the authenticator:
You will be presented with the option to either enter the code from the screen or scan the QR code presented:
Once you have entered the code or scanned the QR code you will be presentedwith an account and a code to enter onto the website:
Once this is entered you will be signed in to the SQOD platform.
Okta Verify Authenticator
The Microsoft Authenticator application is available from both Apple App Store and Google Play store the applications icon looks like this:
Once you install the application you will be offered the choice to Get Started or add accounts from another device, choose get started:
On the next screen select next:
You will then be prompted to add an account:
You will be asked for the type of account you would like to add - Organisation or Other, either option will work:
You will then be asked if you wish to move the account from another device select skip:
You will then be asked to scan the QR code from the website, select “Yes, Readyto Scan” and scan the QR code:
Once you have entered the code or scanned the QR code you will be presented with a account and a code to enter on the website:
Once this is entered you will be signed in to the SQOD platform.
